Blf is probably right that a £25K NR average is an over-estimate. Which further reinforces the argument that these jobs are not worth protecting at such a cost.

The government has just failed - thanks to the House of Lords - to keep NR's future figures from the public and parliament.

So there you have, £100 BILLION of our money being staked on a financial house of cards that is proven to rest on falsified documents.

It's my understanding that they don't have to (legally). And anyway, it would be a bit pointless as no monies would be going to them. These SPVs are simply another one of the many financial devices that all(?) banks resort to nowadays. I had to laugh though when an article referred to "Dollarite" rather than Dolerite - geology obviously not one of the author's strong points.
