you can get your money back straight away via paypal if you select the bit that says no longer a registered user as far as I remember. You should be covered by their money back guarantee but do it straight away or phone paypal direct for advice while they can still stop his withdrawing the money from his account. Hope it wasnt too much...
  • File an 'item not received' dispute via PayPal as early as possible (7 days?).

I have filed a Paypal dispute and got this message:
    Your Dispute is Open

pixel.gif pixel.gif Thank you. We'll let you know by email when the seller responds.

You'll be able to review the seller's response, post new messages to the seller and track this dispute in the Resolution Centre.

    Dispute Timeline

You and the seller have 20 calendar days to resolve this dispute. Your dispute will automatically close on 8 Mar. 2008 unless you or the seller escalate it to a PayPal claim.

By escalating to a claim, you would be asking PayPal to review the dispute and decide the outcome. We will email you a reminder when the deadline is approaching. Once a dispute is closed, it cannot be re-opened or escalated to a claim.

To learn more about how the dispute process works, review our step-by-step Resolution Centre Tutorials.

What should i do now? Should i just wait until Paypal contact me? Is there any way I can claim my money straight away? I won the auction on the 15th so there could be a possibility that he has sent it. Ebay have said dont file an item not received dipute until a few days after the auction has closed. When do you thing i should file an item not received dispute? Thanks alot.
  • Does it allow you to escalate the dispute to a claim now?

pixel.gif I would like to end communication and escalate this dispute to a claim with PayPal

Should I end communication and escalate the dispute? Should I also file an item not received with ebay?
  • Yes, end communication and escalate the dispute to a claim.

No you don't need to file anything with eBay.

Ok is this alright for the reason I am escalating a claim.
I purchased an item off ebay on the 15th February and payed £18.50 for it through Paypal. The seller in now no longer a registered user of ebay and has not responded to any of my emails that I have sent him. Also he hasnt contacted me about the item so I am assuming he hasnt dispatched the item either. I do not think that he is going to send the item or give my money back so i am closing the dispute and escalating a claim.
  • That seems fine.
