Hi Everyone,
I am not really that knowledgeable when it comes to mobile phones so apologies now for asking any stupid questions.
I will start at the beginning:
1. Had a contract phone with 02. Taken out 22.12.06 12 month contract. This was for my daughter to use which she paid me every month.
2. Daughter had handbag stolen and phone last summer. 02 sent a replacement one. In the meantime she brought a PAYG mobile, but I am not sure which network this was with.
3. Then 6 months ago she went to Germany. She wanted to keep her replacement phone but take a payg sim card until she got sorted with a German mobile. So I gave her my payg sim card and I had her contract sim card. When we swapped both sim cards they both worked in phones.
4. So I now have her payg mobile she brought, but is using her contract sim card.
5. I phoned 02 to cancel the contract and told them I wanted to go on PAYG. The lady said she will send me a new sim card with a pac code so I can transfer my number over. She said I had to phone within 30 days to do the transfer.
6. But I have just been on Virgin site and I would like to go with their £10.00 a month as I am a cable customer.
My question is: Can I give the pac code to virgin or do I have to phone 02 back to let them know I am going with virgin. How would I know if this payg phone will work with virgin???
Really sorry for the long post. Just don't know the best way to get on virgin.
Thanks

when you have the pac code you give this straight to virgin when you join them. you will need to do this within 30 days of recieving pac code or the pac will expire and your contract with o2 will not end. when you have pac code there is no need to tell o2 who you are going with.
as for the handset it may be locked to the network it was bought for so you may have to get this unlocked, there is usually a charge for thisThe only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about - Oscar Wilde:beer:
