Am I on the correct tax code?

    522L is my correct code too but im not being taxed as emergency tax
    when i was on BR code i paid high rate of tax but since being on 522L i have paid what i should pay which is what the tax office put me on after my phone call to them. They also said i could have my tax back now or wait till April.
    Im waiting till April as im not in any hurry

    I rang the Tax office yesterday and (after waiting 10 mins to speak to someone) they said that I am not on Emergency Tax and the figures are correct.

    £181.50 is my wage before deductions.
    Tax is @ £10.69
    N.I is @ £7.99

    Summaries: Gross to date - £1321.03, Taxable pay to date - £1306.92, Pension to date - 0.00, Tax to date - £27.39, EE's NI to date - £27.25, Net pay - 162.82

    I work through an agency and have never been asked about a pension so I guess I am not in one ... I have no idea what "EE's" are, thats just what is stated on the slip.

    To have paid Tax to date of £27.39 you would need a taxable gross to date of about £4900. What taxable income did you have before starting this employment? How much have you earned in this employment? Have you any idea why your gross to date and taxable pay to date are different, the usual reason is due to pension? Are there any figures on your payslip for Previous Gross or Previous Tax?

    EE's is an abreviation for Employee's it is the total National Insurance that you have paid in this employment.

    Does anyone know of a national insurance table letter that gives 7.99 ee's for a gross of 181.50?

    Hi Jen,

    Your tax deducted and NIC's (National Insurance Contributions) appear to be correct. Does your payslip have figures marked YTD (Year to Date)? These figures should show income from previous employment added to income from your current job. Has your agency paid you for any expenses? This would explain the discrepency between your gross and taxable income. EE's refers to your national insurance contributions.
