Using 3 sim cards in none 3 phones

Hi

there are dire warnings in 3 paperwork about not using 3 sim cards in none 3 phones.

i happen to like 3...for me it's proved very reliable and efficient...but have a decent unused LIGHT phone i'd like to use ......

...so what does happen. or is just you don't have access to the 3G services?

The Sim card probably won't work, but if it does, and they realise what you have done they will block the sim card so you can't use it in your old phone

They warn you about it via text message. If you ignore it they block your sim.

The nokia 3220 accepts 3G sim cards. Not sure about any other models.

If you dont use it in a 3 phone it goes over the o2 network which costs 3 money.They warn you,and then bar you if you persist.

Quick note
3 uses the O2 network for all its voice calls!
it just does not have the the same priority as O2, so if there is a 3 customer enjoying there call on a full cell site and a O2 customer wishes to make a call it will drop the 3 customer!

NOTE this only on standard 2G voice calls on on video calls!!! :rotfl:

The guys in CPW told me that a 3 sim should work in other phones but the reliablility wouldn't be great!! I thought at the time it was a sales pitch to try to get me onto a new contract so i went to orange and got an excellent deal! But having read the above post i guess they were telling the truth !!!!

I have to say that 3 is a good network, i was on it last year but the only reason i left was cus of the phones !! Why are they ALWAYS so big !
