  • Loads of things to do in San Fran that wont cost you an arm and a leg. Even just walking around areas like China town, Haight Ashbury and Golden Gate park is an experience in itself. Top tip for great food, huge portions but reasonable price is the Cheescake Factory upstairs in Macys. Superb! There are tons of Italian restaurants in the Financial District too which are reasonable and not full of tourists.

    Monterey is a really nice place. The aquirium is a fantastic visit, as is going whale watching -- but my favouritre was watching the slotters ( weren't sure if they were seals or otters at first :rotfl:) and seals playing around.

    just booked off hotwire 2 nights in holiday inn express at $59 a night plus tax which came to $141, it was not named but i took the risk. it is in the fishermans wharf area which is where we wanted to go.hope this helps someone.
