Thanks everyone, crisis over, he managed to get my laptop up and running (not sure what it was I havent had chance to speak to him yet) all my photo's intact, phew!!!!!!

Absolutely, always always backup important stuff, to dvd, external hard drive etc. Things like photos can also be emailed to yourself and stored in your e-mail account, many are big enough to store quite a few photos these days.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Lesson learnt although we all forget it at times.
I store some of my DATA on my ISP's free web space in a password protected rar file.0 -

Becareful doing that, if people can see the rar file, it is possible to decrypt the password (it takes time but its possible)
chances of someone doing it? who knows.
Still i think the best option here is to sign up (for free) to humyo, they have updated it, that it appears as a drive letter , and you can back for free 25 or 26gb.
