in Credit cards
Does anyone know off the top of their heads. Is there a maximum amount you can put on this credit card in one day? I've just come back from Makro. I put nearly £300 on it in the electrical department, then when i went to the checkout with the rest of the stuff the card was declined, so then i had to pay with my debit card. The only idea i can think is if they have put a limit on it as to how much you can spend in one day. Any ideas?

Would it be the same as the limit for withdrawing cash for an ATM? Or could it be a Makro policy?
Hmm...

Or maybe 2 transactions in a short space of time at the same shop triggered some kind of query on the account

I don't think there's a particular limit on daily spending other than your credit limit.

I'd ring Morgan Stanley and ask them why they declined authorisation.

If it was their fraud system intervening, it should have "referred" the transaction rather than declining it. The shop should have phoned through for a manual authorisation, which would involve some form of identity check to make sure the card hadn't been stolen. However in my experience, shop staff usually say the card has been declined, probably because it's less hassle for them.
A call to the card provider to confirm these are genuine transactions should unblock the card and make it less likely to be referred in future.0
