  • Just politely message asking them to leave feedback for you :) A lot just forget or don't really get the feedback system yet (if they are noobies!)

Polite or not, a lot of people do not like to be reminded, and consider it "pestering".

Besides, it may have been that they had a problem with the item and forgot to do anything about it - so the message reminds them to neg or neutral.

  • I wish more people would leave feedback. I`ve sent two expensive items this week £150 and £100 and even though they should have got them a couple of days ago - absolutely no word
I suppose if there was a problem I would hear about it right away!

I like to check items before leaving feedback, like looking through books & watching videos I buy.

I leave immediate feedback for items that don't really need checking, other items can take time, sometimes months !!

Basically at some point later this spring sellers will no longer be able to leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers. Buyers however will still be able to leave any feedback they like for a seller.

That's incredible, those are big changes.
Sellers must be up in arms.

From that thread I assume it was announced in January.

I've just looked at My eBay page & there is nothing shown in General Announcements !!

It was covered in the "Great Service Makes the Difference in 2008" announcement from 29th January - amongst a ream of other changes. I've also had a separate email and eBay message about it on some of my accounts, but I don't think it was sent to all of my accounts.

So it was hidden & buried in there.

  • Well I'm Happy with it.
Only because I'm sick of sellers not bothering EVER to leave me feedback when i have left them feedback as soon as item/s have arrived and then still don't after i have asked them nicely to
" please leave feedback as i have now done :-) "

    Example of latest sellers,
One guy left me 0 feedback on 4 items i bought off him,but i did my duty as it should be and left him 4 feedback for all 4 items i bought, same goes for another seller, bought 2 item's/recieved both items' so left 2x feedback and to this day have not recieved any feedback from him.
    !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of them :(

Feedback is voluntary, not a duty.

Besides, if these have both happened in the last two weeks, it's more than likely the sellers are on feedback strike. Don't take it personally, but many sellers are saying that if they can not leave truthful feedback at all times, then they won't leave feedback at all.

eBay is about buying and selling, feedback is now merely a by-product.

Though if this is the case, it could be argued why is there a massive feedback upheaval/change. :)
