Storage/Organisation of Handbags

Options
Good Morning All,

I wonder if anyone has some advice on how to store/organise handbags. I have a bit of an obsession with bags - and currently store them in a clear plastic box - they are all just jammed in, and now its overflowing.

I should take more care of them - and wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to store them - so I could see exactly what I have... without taking up a huge amount of room !!

Any advice would be appreciated...

Thank You !!

The rest of my house may be a tip but my collection of handbags ais organised. They sit in a row on the top shelf of each of my 3 wardrobes in colour order. All the black ones together navy ones etc. Then shoulder bags together and so on. My special ocassion bags and evening bags are kept in 2labelled boxes on a shelf in the wardrobe. My real chanel bag ( a pressie for my 25th wedding anniversary) stays in its box beside my jumpers. It gets special treatment and only gets out now and again for weddings and great events. Can you guess I love handbags? Treat them right polish them and they will last for ever.

Oh, I'm such a slob! I can't be bothered changing handbags all the time! My purpleish healthy back bag goes with everything I own practically! Only use something else for a special occasion.

I'm as bad with handbags as I am with everything else............they always have a 'must have' lure about them and I have far more than I need. I do like to chop and change them a bit now and then but I'm afraid they're just shoved in the spare room (along with a lot of other stuff) and I almost forget I've got them and end up using the same one until it gives up the ghost !
As for organising the inside of it...............well you can buy handbag 'inserts' I''ve seen somewhere............somehow I think me and an organised handbag wouldn't feel right..............lol

Proper bag polish. You get it in old fashioned shoe shops. It is like neutral shoe polish. I also use baby wipes to give them a wipe now and again. I keep a small bag of tissues a pen and a notebook in each bag even the tiny ones. So just need to swop my keys, diary and purse at short notice for going out.
  • I store all my bags inside each other! Small 'soft' bags get folded up and put into big 'stiff' bags.....I clean leather bags with a bit of natural beeswax and the absoulute best thing for patent bags is vasaline! smooth a small amount on leave to 'soak in' for 10 mins or so and they buff, it take sout all the little scratches and makes them nice and shiny!

I tend to have a favourite which gets used almost always, but do have others. They're stored on a shelf in my wardrobe. One or two were expensive and have their own cloth bags to protect them - which means I effectively forget they're there! Always get a nice surprise when I "rediscover" them! My everyday one has to be a black, big, organiser -type shoulder bag in order to hold everything I feel is necessary to sustain me for a whole day (including a huge bunch of school keys!).

I have a freestanding clothes thingie (meant for putting visitors coats on). I have my bags hanging from the hooks on that (whoops - thinks that means I have rather a lot of bags! not all bought by me I hasten to add - a lot are pass-ons).
  • you could use the shoe/jumper storage hangers with various openings that hang on a clothes rail .

Hooks on the back of the wardrobe doors??

Mine are on a shelf in a wardrobe, I don't have that many handbags...my obsession is laptop bags LOL and I keep them in a corner of the office, and overnight bags/suitcases which are stored in the loft.
