BT Support advises that a full and proper hardware reset can be done by:
- Push and hold the Wireless Association button (on the back panel) for 15 seconds, until all the lights light up - then release it.
- The reset process may then take several minutes.
- The Hub is reset and ready for use when the Broadband and Internet lights are steady green.

it could be that the thing was turned off during a firmware upgrade (not hard as the old one does not tell you it's doing one, although the new one has an amber light to warn)
I'd go for the firmware update manully using the recovery toolEx forum ambassador

OK, I've worked out how to access the configuration now via user:admin and password:admin
I've got a few things to do.
Firmware update is no1.Happy chappy0 -
be warned that the new firmware sometimes prompts you to change the router password from adminEx forum ambassador

I had some problems with 2nd laptop. Finally fixed it by turning everything off and restarting it all.
Sorted, very pleased now.Happy chappy0 -
3 days later and I'm back round at my parents' house because the wireless connections don't work again.
Same problem - wireless cards stall when "acquiring network address".
Maybe I should manually set IP addresses. What range is valid?Happy chappy0 -
OK, I'm typing this from the original working laptop. I did a reset via the hub manager and now it's working. I'm starting to wonder whether laptop 2 is corrupting the hub dns settings in some way or other.Happy chappy0
