I hope this hasn't been posted already.
This is something I did last year when 3 completely failed to offer me a decent renewal deal and I ended up cancelling my contract and getting a new one. It went like this:
Go to 3 website via quidco (decent cashback £32.50-£60 ish)
Sign up for the new contract, but in the details section where it asks if you were recommended by a friend, put in your old 3 number. Both phones are credited with £30 :T
So, for a mix+match 300 contract:
£15 x 18 months = £270
minus £32.50 quidco, £60 recommend a friend = £177.50
177.50/18 = £9.86 a month.
So if 3 aren't playing ball and giving you a decent renewal offer, this is always an option.
