    Ok don't hurt me.

On signing in to Internet Banking, we had a preapproved 15k loan, a few calculations later, meant that by taking it, we'd be paying 5k in interest over the 6 years of the loan.

BUT it meant that we'd be able to pay off all our debt, apart from the money I owe my sister now. Leaving us with outgoings of £494 to our debt.

By putting money aside as planned we'd be able to pay off my sister in July next year, and then have outgoings to debt of £288.

Yes 5k is a lot of interest to pay, thing is, we can see how happier we'd be. So we are going to do it, cancel the two credit cards when they are paid off tomorrow on reciept of the money, it allows us to have some money for xmas and then to start piling money aside to pay off the total debt.

Apart from that, we've bought some cheap plastic boxes to put the money into each month for those bills which come each quarter.

    Budget now is
    Gas Electric 40
    Mortgage 715
    Council Tax 89
    Water 38
    Phone 30
    Broadband 25
    Sky 47
    Food 150
    Debt 494
    Tv licence 15
    Ins 85
    Petrol 224
    Save 320
    Total 2272

With Joint incomings of £3000. Still got a long way to go, but I can see it being a lot easier now. Its cost a lot though.

I'm very annoyed with Halifax who have basically said "as your not behind with repayments you need to pay by cheque not by debit card" So the funds will sit in a current account whilst we wait for a new cheque book to arrive to pay off the loans.

I've also decided to change my motorbike (its my main form of travel, cheaper than Public Transport), I've decided to buy an automatic 500 scooter which will mean my petrol & insurance bill will drop each month.

We are still sticking to the budget, my partner starts her new job next week, and has agreed to put more money aside from january once shes paid for xmas, we've cancelled our xmas visit to my parents as it costs too much and also cancelled hosting xmas for her parents, much cheaper to visit her mum & dad.
