Yep!
Sky - If we don't have SkySports I'd go to the pub!
Socialising - Somehow, the mrs always books us out every other weekend! I've told her it stops and so we are now having people round for drinks. Why do people turn up without their drink? And then you go to theirs and they never have anything in the fridge!
Food - Its coming down0 -
Another big chunk paid off CC2, we had one of those change bottles so I took it to sainsburys and it had £78 in after Coinstar took their cut. Paid that straight off the credit card
Also made a very cheap lunch and dinnerCheese Toasties and corned beef hash!

Why using coin machine? obtain plastic bag from bank count the coin and weight first bag then fill other bag to the same weight as first bag and take to the bank. no cut for coinstar:jYung

Another weeks shopping done £28
A very cheap weekend in France £40 for both of us later
A free Xbox360 from Tesco
And a thought...
If I superbalance transfer CC1... we can pay off Nicolas Loan, by snowballing that money, we'll be debt free by August 08
I sat working it all out last night, Got a date of June 08 at first not sure where I went wrong
Happy Bunny at the moment
EDIT - Also had a PI offer for the car crash through, looking at £2-£2500. Even better0 -
Another weeks approachs...
Put the balance transfer through on Friday, this will allow us to pay off CC2, and Nicolas loan, giving a total of £220 a month to pile into the other debts whilst repaying £70 a month to the BT. Then when Nicolas PI comes through we'll be left with a credit card balance of around £800.
This weeks shopping came to a total of £41, I made a point of buying decent razors as I've been cutting myself with the cheaper ones, and Nicola stuck £5 worth of flowers in the trolley! I wasn't impressed and made a point of it.
I cancelled this weekends night out, and have also cancelled them until mid November
I'm allowing a total spend of £30 for the coming week, I'll need a tank of petrol on Tuesday and Thursday and apart from that, I've already bought everything in the weeks shopping. I'm trying to stop drinking during the week, its hard but will be worth it in the long run!
Have a good week everyone0 -
Sorry should of added, Nicola also closed her current a/c with Halifax which had an unwanted 1k overdraft, never used but it must effect our credit rating and I've transfered my savings to my nationwide account to close my halifax account too.
Even saying we could be debt free in two years is a huge boost for us, no matter what cut backs we need to make!0 -
Damn, damn, damn
Got ready for work on Tuesday, got my bike protection on, climbed on bike wouldn't start.
As I'm a MSE I don't have homestart so push the thing for 1/2 mile. RAC come out and say I need a new battery. Off I go to the dealership and try to get one, seems another part has failed too.
Three days of travel later (£75) the bike is fixed for £200.
Damn, could of done without that bill.
This month was going so well too.0 -
Totally agree with you Robodan.
I did some really daft things when I was younger.
Stupid loans.
Stupid credit cards.
Stupid me!
It took me 5 years to get debt free. Very painful and a LOT of hard work. Now debt free. But very conscious that I don't want to slip into it again.
Now earning £50k per year. Secure job. Salary stable. Partner with no debts and also with a good salary.
But . . . .
Like a recovering alcoholic, I still feel that I'm only one stupid act from being in debt again. It ain't easy when you like spending money . . . .
If only I knew what I know now when I was in my twenties . . .
One thing though, you guys are awesome. I read this section every night and it spurs me on to keep on the "straight and narrow".0 -
good to hear your making progress
most of us did stuff like that.. im still digging myself out of that hole0
