Well, here's my update on yesterday's fiasco. I have eventually mangaged to speak to Flowers direct customer service dept. I went through my problem & the cust service lady asked me to hold the line while she contacted the florist concerned (so they do use local florists). I was then told that a new bouquet of fresh flowers would be delivered tommorrow as originally requested, free of charge. It seems my order had been mixed up with the valentines orders at the florists. In all fairness, they couldn't appologise enough. A result.0

It now turns out that FD use Chitty Link, who can't find their own backsides with both hands and a map. They say an attempt was made to deliver at 16:40 on Thursday, but then say they couldn't find the house (despite me having given directions on the order form). Rather than attempt to deliver again on Friday, it is rescheduled for Monday, by which time the flowers will be dead.
To be fair, FD were helpful and have told me they will refund my money. Until they use a proper courier though they aren't getting any of my business.0 -
Ok, here's an update from me.
Just before 9 yesterday morning, somebody from tescos rang, sounding very nervous, advising that 'hopefully' the flowers would be delivered that day,and that my account would be credited. As a goodwill gesture another bouquet would also be sent.No explanation, no apology. When I pointed out that i had also emailed them detailing my complaint, and asked what they were doing about compensation for my out of pocket expenses, their attitude was 'oh, we won't be able to do anything about that, mr originalbob'.
Woeful.
Oh, flowers finally turned up at about 15.00 yesterday, original order only.
Interestingly, later on the day had an email from Tescos acknowledging my complaint and apologising for the way that it had been handled, and that it will be referred to a team leader to be dealt with.
If I treated my customers like that, i'd be fired on the spot by my boss.Anyhoo, more when it develops.0 -
Here's my update. My mother has rang to say she has just received her replacement flowers. She tells me that they are "marginally" better than the last lot in that at least this time they are alive. They did however ask for the return of the original ones to which my Mother replied that they had been thrown away as they were that bad. Mum says that they look like they have been thrown together by someone who has just started evening classes in flower arranging.0

Oh my! Thanks for the warning, I was about to use them for Mothers day ... I shall be visiting a proper florist and delivering them myself! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I can't understand why people just don't pick up the phone and call a florist locally to where they want the flowers to be delivered.
Every year you read dozens of post mortems of non delivered flowers by internet retailers and the multiples.
It's not as though it's better value using one of these companies they all slice 20% to 30% off what you pay as a handling charge, then send the reamining value to a local florist in the delivery area.0 -
As a MoneySaver convert, I decided to order Mother's Day Flowers through Quidco.... and unfortunately selected 'Flowers Direct'.
28th Feb at 17.10 their website was accessed and flowers worth £46.74 ordered. At the final stage of payment (with Paypal) an error message came up with the instruction to press the back button and try again. This I did..... only to get the same error message. Gave up on Flowers Direct and ordered problem free (and absolutely gorgeous) flowers from Arena Flowers.
At 5.15 and 5.18 mi inbox inicated receipt messages from Paypal stating that I had paid Flowers Direct £46.74 TWICE!! Immediately rang FD and spoke to a rude, unapologetic aggressive operative, who blamed Paypal for the problem with the website and reluctantly agreed (after keeping me on hold for 10 minutes) to refund the two payments, stating 'but the florist is very upset'. By that time, so was I!!!
29th February. No refund. Sent email to Customer Services at 8.22 (still waiting for reply 4 days later.) Telephoned FD at 10.00. Was told that Customer Services would call me back. (Still waiting 4 days later.) Rang FD at 1.30 and spoke to Laura who gave me another phone number (08717501224) with the message "The Service is now closed". Rang FD again and was given the run around by Rachel. Finally spoke to Kim who put me on hold then assured me my £93.48 would be refunded that day.
1st March. No refund
2nd March. No refund. Rang FD. Recorded message "Our Offices are now closed".
3rd March. Still no refund. Emailed Customer Services. Rang all numbers several times..... either engaged, or "This service is unavailable" or "Due to high call volume all our operators are currently busy, please leave a message or call back after 3.00pm." Messages left am and pm. On my final call at 4.45, I was still being asked to ring back after 3.00pm........ presumably that means tomorrow.
If anyone has managed to plough through this with will-to-live still intact.... please can you advise me on how to get my £93.48 back!
AND BUY YOUR FLOWERS FROM ARENA. THEY OFFER GOOD VALUE>>>> AND CASHBACK!!!!

Have you tried going through Paypal to get your money back?0
-
Thanks Sarah..... that was going to be my next step.
But HURRAY... just got emails from Paypal announcing two refunds from Flowers Direct.
Its good to have the money back..... but an apology for all the time, stress and phone calls would have been nice!0 -
First and last time I use this company....
Took payment for my Mother's day flowers, and nothing.... No delivery. I cannot get them on the phone and they have not replied to either emails I have sent.:mad::mad:
What can I do now... I could write a letter but that is probably going to be ignored as well.
If any one knows the MD, that sometimes gets things going if you send one to the MD and one to customer services and CC their name at the bottom.
Any help appreciated. Can I claim money back as its a debit card?0
