Another post in the wrong place.
THIS THREAD IS FOR LINKS TO FREEBIES-YOUR POST IS A QUESTION AS TO WHERE YOU CAN GIVE YOUR ITEM AWAY.
YOUR THREAD TITLE IS MISLEADING.
YOU SHOULD RENAME IT - " I WANT TO GIVE MY LAPTOP AWAY FOR FREE"
THEN POST IT IN THE CHARITIES FORUM.
i know it might be slightly annoying but try to be nice to the OP? She's doing a good deed afterall and it's not like she intentionally spammed0 -
Telling someone they have posted in the wrong place- be nice to them??? post in the right place then.
People always come back with be nice to the OP when threads are in the wrong place. They are the people who make the MODS do extra work by putting threads where they shouldnt be
I didnt say it was spam (you need to brush up on the definition of Spam by the way), Im not going to get into an arguement with you or anyone about it,
Its in the wrong place, regardless if they are trying to do a good deed.0 -
So then your correct response would have been to ask an admin to move the thread rather tha continue to add to the thread. Sometimes its just polite to say nothing as not everyone understands.0

yeah, be nice to them:
"please post in the charities board regarding this subject because..."
caps lock indicates shouting, rather rude to a newbie dont ya think?
i know you didnt say she was spamming, i added spam as a comparison tool, as in "she hasn't spammed or intentionally done anything to hurt this forum so there's no need to be rude to her"0 -
What a nice thought! my mum & her friends set up a regiseterd charity called the Levana Trust for kids in south africa after visiting them (they worked in schools) It really touched them as the kids were mostly looked after by single mums (a lot of the dads had been killed in the conflict) one young boy of 15 was up at 5am every day to sell strawberries for a few pence to send his little brothers & sisters to school. Anyway if you would be interested in finding out more or speaking to my mum just let me know, i can get hold of the charity number for you.
I know of someone who is going out to Malawi to a hospital and school soon and she is looking for pens and pencils to take with her for the kids there, not sure she would want to take out a laptop though but I hope your Mum can find a good home for this laptop.0 -

Try the above link, it seems to be a directory of all the IT charity recycling organisations.
There was an item on here about recycling computers for charity. An organisation would pick them up, volunteers would check them over etc, but the search option for the site MSE site doesn't seem to be working so I can't find it. Try searching Recycle PC or Recycle Computer.Nice to save.0 -
