Madrid!!!!!

We were there last month. Booked the Francisco I smack bang in the centre for €100 for 2 nights. Discovered it was cheaper to book it via www.bookings.com than it was to go direct. We did all the usual touristy things too. Reina Sofia museum was outstanding! And as for the shopping... well!!! Yes, the Metro is €1 per journey, with a surcharge of an extra euro if the airport is involved. Found it really easy to navigate, much like London Underground.

Really good location and plenty of good tapas bars & restaurants in the area, and when we stayed it was less than half the cost of hotels in the same area. The photos don't really do it justice, it's a nice 1 room apartment with sofa, bed & small kitchen area. It's one of the few cheap places I've stayed that I'd definitely go back to, which is the best endorsement I can give!!
