Pamper party for 12 year old

My dd would like to have a pamper party for her birthday, for about 6 girls. Has anyone done this and have any tips for me please. I was thinking of making up natural face masks (egg white, honey that sort of thing), doing nails, but don't want it to be 'naff' and would love some ideas.

you could buy lots of nail varnish, lots of brushes for hair.get some ideas of films that girls that age would watch, popcorn, hot chocolate and marshmellows, kareoke, music, manicure sets eg toe seperaters, things like that!!!!
When you read my posts, think Barry from Auf weidersehen pet...I sound just like him ;) :rotfl:
    Boing boing baggies baggies :j
  • The local beauty salon in my village does pamper parties and they put little bowls of sweets out with say dolly mixtures, marshmallows etc in them. Then they do things like painting nails and adding gems, nail art etc and they also style hair... what you need to do is make sure that the other girls are entertained while some of the girls are getting their treatments... I do like the above idea of putting on some films like clueless, mean girls etc and serving flavoured popcorns in muffin cases etc.

Do the 12 year olds wear/allowed to wear make up? or the fake tattoos. I'm out of touch with 12 year olds.
If you could rope in some help with friends/much older teens, you could do hair, face masks, makeup, nails, pedicure with just a baby oil massage and toe nails but you'd need help.
All of the lovely things that lyndseyann and princesspoppypop said too plus if you are doing party bags, little bits of makeup and those stick on jem things but for the party bag itself I've seen a pattern on the web to make little handbags from card. They look lovely.

Theres a template there to print on your own card, so more for youngsters. I've seen them with the thin feather boa type feathery stuff stuck on and silver buttons and beads as clasps, also beads threaded on strings for handles. You could use it as a craft for the girls to do while they wait for their pampering and put their going home goodies in it at the end.

Thank you so much for the ideas. Those little bags look great too!
  • Could you get some cheapy beads from e-bay- if you search for stripey beads, you can get som really funky ones and some stretch magic and they could make some stretchy bracelets. Even I love doing this and I ma much older that 12 *cough* :)
  • This site has some kits for making your own lip gloss, eyeshadow, bath fizzers etc. That might be a fun thing to do :)

More great ideas. I have a fondue set, but hadn't thought of using it for the party, but I will now. Thanks everyone.
