The old singer ones are more practical. They're made out of steel, which is why many people covet them.

I'm not going to debate sewing machines but it kind of depends what you use it for - the old ones are very basic. Plus mine is 16 years old and good as new, people break things because they don't take care of them and treat stuff as disposable.

Alas, a lot of modern stuff is disposable. Though I am noticing a welcome return of screw-together cases...

It's not what you do one day in 366 that matters, it's what you do for the other 365 that make you romantic...

  • Hi guys,
Apologies for the random post on this forum. New to the forums and the site in general but what a great site it is. Reading through the debt free wannabe forums, I find it warming that there so many helpful people here.
    Keep up your good work:T

Now I need some advice as I'm in a similar situation as many people on here.
My debt may not be as big as most on here but to me it is a big debt. My main creditors are my bank, a loan company and my landlord which amounts to roughly over £9000. I have spoken with payplan today who where very helpful and have sent me a "plan of action" email. I drive a car which I need for work but have
had get a lift into work since the end of last month as my tax has run out. My MOT is the end of this month but I can't afford to put it through as it will cost too much. It's a bit of a dog! I spoke to my loan company today about an extended loan of
about £500 to get another motor. I'm also looking for work in other areas with better pay so I need the transport. Should I take the loan??

    Thanks
