Cost of gas VS Cost of oil

Hi there,

Anyone that could give me a rough comparison, I'd be very grateful.
First time buyer looking for a house and have found the perfect house...almost.

It has an oil tank as the entire village has no gas supply. I want to work out if it is too expensive and whether we should look in other villages that have gas.

3 bedroom semi, 10 years old. We are both teachers so would have heating on for maybe an hour in the mornings (from October-March at a guess) and maybe 3 hours in the evening.

How much would gas be?
How much would oil be?

At current prices oil is about 60% more than gas.

Probably cost very roughly 200 to 300 pounds more per year
