Hi All
Just a warning to anybody else on this tariff.
I signed up for this tariff because it was only £1 dearer than the O2 tariff I was on but offered Unlimited O2 calls. This suits me because my OH is also with O2.
My first bill came due on the 11th Feb and lo and behold I have been charged for all calls over my 125 mins which equates to about £20. I have been charged for my O2 to O2 calls.
I phoned up CS and was told I did not get free O2 calls on this tariff. I told them their website, at the time, said different. I was told I was confused !!!! ARRRGGHHH
I said I am looking at a copy of your website at the time and it says Unlimited O2 calls on all talker tariffs.
I even emailed the web page and 2 screen dumps but was virtually accused of doctoring the page
So we go round and round in circles for 30 odd mins.
CS supervisor said they would put me on the next tariff up which gives free O2 calls and knock £5 a month off the bill for the length of the contract ( Tariff was £25 as opposed to my Tariff of £20 )
Was told the tariff does not exist so there was nothing they could do about giving me my Unlimited O2 calls on my tariff.
Pi**ed of because after 18 months if I do not change tariff my bill goes up by £5 a month for something I should have had anyway.
I kept a copy of the website at the time specifically because any time I change anything with O2 they invariably !!!! it up.
My mate was even sold the tariff on the strength of the free O2 to O2 mins, he did not particularly want to change but was sold by those free calls.
I was told I was the first person to complain of this so maybe myself and my mate are the only ones on this tariff ???
The Texter and Talker tariffs are no longer available and have been amalgamated into one lot of tariffs.
I am fed up with getting !!!!!! on by big companies, they are all as bad as each other and there appears to be next to nothing the punter can do about it without wasting countless hours on the phone.
See below for part of page for the non existent Tariff !!!!

Hi all, I just had my bill this morning from O2 and shock horror 23pounds 23 pence!! It may not sound much to some but I am a very light user and as my wife is on O2 as well we have always had a free O2 to O2 calling package to keep costs down.
Three months ago I decided that I wasn't really getting good value for money from my Simplicity 15 tariff (15 pounds/month 120 mins and free O2 to O2 calls) as I was only using about 60 mins in total. I called O2 and said I would be better off with ASDA at 8p min flat rate, and was advised I could have a 20 pounds/ month tariff with 10 pound a month discount for the whole 18 months, 120 mins and free O2 to O2 calls. I was then persuaded to take the offer as I had accrued a 120 pounds credit over a period of time which meant over 18 months I would be paying an equivelant of less than 5 pounds per month ie 20 p/m minus10 p/m discount = 180 over 18 months minus 120 credit leaves 60 divided by 18 = 3.33 per month !!!
I think I must just not have noticed the first month bill but when I received one today for over 23 pounds I was hopping mad. I read your article re this tariff and rang O2 at boiling point. I spoke to a chap called Michael who listened and then confirmed that I hadn't been receiving my 10 pound discount and that I hadn't been getting free O2 calls either. He arranged a 20 pounds credit and a review for charged calls to O2 phones so I should be back on track next month.
The main problem seems to be O2, probably like other mobile providers, make it almost impossible to check the relevant information, I couldnt even find this tariff or deatils of the charges etc. The moral of the tale : look carefully at every part of your bill and if in doubt question it. Sorry about POUNDS all the time but my pound sign isn't working on the keyboard.

PS- if it is ok for companies we call to record our conversations why is it against the law for us to do it to them?0 -

It's not against the law to record calls but the other party must be aware that the call is being recorded. It's for that reason that companies either tell you in their literature and/or on the phone that calls may be recorded.0 -
Thanks DVS, thought it would be something like that, thanks for the expanded explanation. Does anyone know how to record anything, especially from a mobile? it may be useful in a dispute.0
