For the last 2 years I have saved all my Tescos Vouchers to use towards a holiday. I have £1030 to put towards a holiday which you think would be ample. But the quotes I have received are all around £2500 for two adults & 2 children for 7 night HB in Majorca! I have been twice before, once paying £930 for 11 nights, and once £1200 for 14 nights. Cosmos will not allow you to use the vouchers in conjuction with any other offer, apprently free child places are an offer. Furthermore their flight times are really bad, they do not fly from local airports and you have to call for prices at 10pence per minute, of course there is always a long wait before they answer. They must hike up the price. So never again will I be converting to Cosmos. I'm not even sure I can afford to go, so £1030 and 2 years worth of saving down the drain. Airmiles all the way!!!!!!
  • HI, i have used my tesco vouchers twice now, once for St Lucia and i have just booked to go to Cyprus for 2 weeks and i found that the price they quoted was the same as the internet discounted price.

    Hope this help

I used clubcard vouchers to pay for a fortnights all Inclusive to Tunisia a couple of years ago which 'cost' me £1250 and my husband and I were both very happy with our holiday. Nice hotel, nice view, nice food and flights ok too. All in all excellent value paid for by a couple of years shopping.

I don't believe Cosmos are hiking the prices up differently for Clubcard bookings. All the main travel operators have brochures and therefore brochure prices but then the travel agents often have discounts and if you can shop around for the best discounts you will get a cheaper holiday for the brochure price. Considering that I didn't pay anything towards my holiday and that the actual 'face value' of the vouches were £312.50 for a two week hoiday for two with all food included is pretty good going.

There is a cap now on £400 per person but I think that a weeks holiday somewhere without adding any cash is still an option.

I've looked into converting into airmiles instead but we would be hard pressed to even get to Brussels with the £100 in clubcard vouchers (£400 in Cosmos vouchers). So Cosmos seems a much better option.

I booked a holiday using vouchers a couple of years ago. At that time the person I spoke to said if there was a 10% discount or similar when the brochure first came out then you'd qualify for that with tesco vouchers so it might be worth looking out for it.
  • Just tried to book a week all inclusive in Cyprus for October half term week.

    Brochure Price £2154
Quote when redeeming Club Card points £2648.50
    On line £1576.50

    Hmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • You have to pay brochure price
OK if booking well in advance
You would get considerably cheaper if booking late deal - but still a little dearer than using your vouchers
Been to Gambia - paid in full with vouchers
Just returned from 2 weeks in Turkey - 800 of vouchers used
Looking for next holiday on Tescos to book before vouchers go to 3 times face value of tokens instead of current 4 times

I'm booked with Cosmos to Luxor in January, used £200 of vouchers which equates to £800 off the cost.I had checked the price online and thought I would have to pay the price before the online discount but this was not the case, I was given £100 per person discount, shown clearly on the invoice...paid the deposit when I booked ,got invoice showing online discount, sent in Tesco vouchers, another invoice arrived with £800 off and showing same online discount , just got the balance to pay in November now...I'm about to book another holiday to make the most of the rewards....what are the odds the ' double points' will stop some time next year?
  • Hi,

I just tried using my vouchers, knowing it's the last chance to get 4x and £400 per person against £300 per person from next week.

Price on the web for my holiday was £1,225, including all discounts, on the cosmos website.

Quoted over £1,900 for exactly the same holiday on the phone (the only way to book). I have £740 in vouchers, making the holiday £1,200. So my vouchers are effectively worthless.

The undiscounted price on the web was £1,525. I had called a couple of weeks ago to get a price before converting my clubcard vouchers into cosmos ones and was quoted the exact price on the web before discount. so it looks like cosmos are hiking their proces for anyone trying to use their vouchers this weekend, before the changes.

I didn't book the holiday and will be sending the vouchers back to Tesco for a refund. I don't think I'll be using cosmos again.
  • I've got nearly £700 of Tesco vouchers to use for the family, most of them got at the old 4 x rate, but I don't think I'll be using them :(.

The online brochure is hard to make sense of (it says prices from.., but no details of what time of year that is or what is included, but obviously the only way the price is going is up!), and I've just had a look on Travel Supermarket and the Cosmos holidays start from over £600pp even in mid-July, and there are others from £350 - £400.
  • Cosmos tesco deal vouchers are a complete con.

Cosmos now don't put their prices in the catalogue

You can't use any of the hot deals on line (their only competitive prices).

eg: deal to corfu came out to £1700 all inc for 2 adults and 2 children. (stated online ) said it was £190 saving.

So I thought great tesco clubcard price should be approx £1900.

Rang for quote on cosmos clubcard line and was quoted just under £2500!

A competitor also quoted £1600 for same hotel.

    I have £1200 of vouchers

So essentially would waste £900 of them

Also bare in mind that the vouchers are worth in tescos £400 for normal shopping

So I would actually lose £100 by using them

    What a con

    Scott
