Booking with Cosmos using Tesco vouchers questions ???

Options
Hi - has anyone out there had any experience in booking a holiday with say Cosmos with their tesco coupons - was thinking about perhaps booking one for next Jan (have 542 in tokens so far) I couldn't see anywhere for codes to be added online so guess I would have to call them or visit a travel agent ? Are the holidays dearer if you use your tokens ? - I am in right in thinking I have to order the vouchers then book the holiday ?
thank you

Be aware that if you use tesco vouchers then you will have to pay the full bochure price - how much worth of tokens do you have? For example my sister had £600 worth - she phoned them and got a price of £1800 for fortnights break. She then phoned up (without mentioning tesco vouchers) and the best price with they could get her for the same holiday was just over £1300.
  • Hi there - I had a feeling that might be the case - thought it might be too good to be true - I do have 542.00 so far - so are you saying the prices on the web site are not the same as the brouchure ? I know there's a saving if you book on line as they show this price along side another price (which I thought would be a brouchure price) I will have to call them and see what happens - should have another lot of tokens before then anyway (just received the last lot) thanks for your help - did you sister ever book it ?
  • - so are you saying the prices on the web site are not the same as the brochure ? ?

I looked into this as well. You have to pay the full brochure price, I have ordered a brochure for cosmos so that I can compare the brochure price to the internet price, but I expect the brochure price to be higher.

I suppose you have to consider what is better value £1800 in vouchers (£450 x 4) or £1300 in cold hard cash (the figures quoted in the post above).

I booked to go to Florida with Cosmos last August. You have to book with Cosmos directly-it cant be done through another travel agent. I found them to be very good value. Although I did have to pay brochure price, I managed to get a free child place, so overall got a very good deal.

You just have to do the sums-you might find that you dont het the full four times value, but unless you have anything else to do with them where you will get max four times value, I would still be happy to use them again.

    Hi

I booked my holiday with deals last month. When you get the price up it says total amount of holiday and underneath is total amount to pay including discounts. You pay the first one. I rang and they quoted me £2501 which was the price on screen in front of me. If I was not using vouchers I would have saved just £200. I know you can get some good deals online but I think using deals to pay part of the balance far outweighs the savings.

Also I had to pay a deposit of £120 per person as I was not paying the full balance in deals. Although I think some companies are reducing the balances this summer.

  • Is it possible to use someone else's clubcard points to get a Cosmos Holiday? I have my own clubcard, but could I use my mother's points to use with Cosmos? Would my mum need to get the deal tokens herself then give them to me to redeem?

    Thanks

Edit : Scrub that have just seen in the T & Cs in bold letters that you can't.

You can as jus71 says price it up on line on the cosmos site, the price you pay is the topline price before the web discount. For a holiday booked in advance -a brochure hol-it still works out a good price.
I booked for Florida and got a really competitive price compared to other companies but for cash it would have cost £176 less.

you can call up and book the holiday then you have 7 days to get your vouchers to them-so you then order them and post to cosmos. The no to call is in the added info on the clucard page. you need to pay the deposit but if your vouchers come to more then they refund you as soon as they get the vouchers.
You can use a family memebers vouchers if they ave the same surname a you-they would need to order them for you and then pass then on.9need to be ordered from the same address to which thet were received.

From may clubcard are putting postcodes on the vouchers so do it before May.-otherwise your mother will have to come with you on the hol for you to use them.!!

I found that Virgin's prices were the same regardless of how you paid. I personally didn't think that the Cosmos deal was any good.
    Comping from May 2012 :D

Thank you to all that post & contribute, I think you are wonderful, I could not achieve without your help :)

we had such trouble with their website (and virgin are as bad) that we phoned them for a quote saying we needed to know how many vouchers to collect. For a villa in October it was around £3800 for 2 weeks. HTH
