Hi moneysaver - I claimed at the end of last year and received a rebate for both years plus interest, so ended up with £1,200, as I said in post #4.

Thank you very much for the info.

Hi Emmabz, there isn't a central address, you just write to your own Tax Office. If you're working, asking your payroll department, if you're no longer working just look up your local Tax Office in the phone book. Phone them first, but your letter should include:
    - your National Insurance Number
    - your employer's name and address (if you're no longer working, then your employer at the time)
    - request for a rebate for Children's Tax Credits for the year 2002-03 because you don't believe it was requested at the time.

With your NI number, they'll be able to look up your tax code for that year, so will be able to see whether or not you received the rebate at the time. If not, then they should send you a cheque for it. It may take a little while, but they do give you interest.
    Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j
  • It is true you can claim any unclaimed ctc and gladstonebrookes will do it. i applied last year in may and recieved a cheque this morning for $372 i was awarded £603 but they take some for costs. I can assure you it is NOT a con.
