Children's Tax Credit Reclaim

Does The Taxman Owe You Money?

Do you have a child who was born between April 1986 and April 2003?
Did you or your partner earn £6,000 or more in the tax years and 2002-2003?
If so, the Taxman could owe you up to £1000!!!
To find out if you qualify, call our Tax Recovery Department
on 0800 083 6860 or fill in our on-line questionnaire.

In 2001 the government introduced a new initiative to help families with children called Children's Tax Credit.
You can now reclaim Children's Tax Credit for the 2002-2003 Tax year. After this date Children's Tax Credit was replaced by the current scheme of Child Tax Credit, however, the initial scheme was so poorly publicised that many thousands of families missed out on the payback to which they were entitled.
Please note: if you are currently in receipt of Working Tax Credits, making a claim for Children's Tax Credit will not affect your current entitlement in any way.
Should you wish us to pursue a claim on your behalf please call us on
0800 083 6860.
Alternatively please fill in the online claim form and we will contact you as soon as possible
Please be aware that HMRC have imposed strict deadlines, therefore, please register your claim today.

  • ok i just called the company in the ad and said i wanted some info. they act on a no win no fee thingy so basicly im going to avoid it as they take a percentage of what you get. iasked him what was to stop me doing the claim myself and he said that the inland ref drag there feet ect ect.... in other words ,nothing is to stop you asking yourself in a letter.
you need to send the childrens details, age d.o.b ect .
n.i number , all the normal details.
you also need to draft a letter asking them to look into your tax claim betwee those date to see if the claim was payed out right. im going to draft a letter in a bit.

  • If you were to read through the boards you would see this has been brought up about half a dozen times - if you want to query if you are owed anything, just call your local tax office to check.

Do not use these companies - you are giving them free access to your tax records as well as paying them for something most people could do on their own.

    Hi,

Don't get this company to do it for you, ring your tax office and ask them whether you were on the right tax code at the time. It helps if you have your P60 for the year 2002-3 (the deadline has now passed for 2001-2). If you didn't get extra tax allowance at the time, they will send you a form to fill in. It's worth about £500 and they'll pay you a bit of interest as well, if you're eligible.

P.S. And yes, it is for real, I've done it myself and received amost £1,200 for the two years.

My brother in law has been onto me to find out about this. A company called Gladstone Brookes is advertising in the national newspapers to claim back this tax money. I was wondering if anybody can shed some light on this & has anyone managed to get tax back without using a third party.

    Thanks

Absolutely no need for that quite frankly. If you bother to read post number 2 then you will see the info required AND the address to send it to.

I have read post number 2. I don't see where it says they were successful. I was looking for some success stories just incase it is a waste of time.

Well I'm sure 5 minutes to draft up a letter and the price of a stamp will be worth it either way wouldn't it?

There are other threads with success stories in it of people claiming the direct way so either have a hunt on here or just take the opportunity if you think you are eligible.

Hi moneysaver - I claimed at the end of last year and received a rebate for both years plus interest, so ended up with £1,200, as I said in post #4.
