Top Class Manchester City Centre Hotel Wanted, Suggestions Plz

  • Stayed in the Brittania central Manchester, Portland St.
5 mins from Oxford St and Piccadilly stations.

    Very nice.

Sachas is nice to. Possibly nicer.

I wouldn't recommend either really, both are showing their age now, although both would come in at well under the OPs budget.

The radisson is lovely, as is the Lowry (and it really is pretty much in the city centre - walking to piccadilly would probably take about 15 minutes from there).
I do like Malmaison, and the Macdonald looks nice but it's not in the nicest location (right next to the station).

My personal choice would be the Radisson or the Lowry.

I've stayed at the Radisson and not the Lowry and although I liked the Radisson i've just looked on lastminute.com and it's £142 (£162 with breakfast) and £125 for the Lowry so as the Rad is 4* and the Lowry is 5* it seems to me a very good price for the latter :undecided
Same old same old since 2008

This is a good site for finding hotels... can recommend any tho as living here, I dont really need to book a hotel :)

Always thought The Midland looked very posh, and its an ideal central location ;)

What about the new City Inn, just opposite Piccadily Station. I have not stayed there but had lunch there and it is really nice.

Let us know what you decide!!

Premier Apartments is nice! It's right next to Printworks and close to Victoria station. Book on lastminute.com via Quidco and get 7% back.
  • Here's my advice -
Avoid Sachas & the Brittania - Awful. (Sachas even has rooms with no windows but a "view" painted onto the walls)
poe.tuesday mentioned Didsbury House Hotel - I agree, lovely hotel but a distance from the city.
How about the Rossetti? Opposite Mal Maison so very close to Piccadilly train station and in the centre of town. It's quite quirky & funky too.
Hope that helps and you have a lovely trip!
  • The Marriott Victoria & Albert is available via Opodo for £131.32 (£139 on Marriott.com). This is room only. Unfortunately you would be unable to claim under Marriott's 'Look No Further' best rate guarantee as the stay is less than 24 hours away.

Thanks very much for all the suggestions :T

I must say there are some very nice hotels mentioned but i can only book one unfortunetly!

I've decided to go for the Arora International although it wasnt mentioned it seems to get good reviews plus it's near china town - the Mrs loves a Chinese!!

I very nearly went for the Midland, slap bang in the centre but plumped for the above.

I am hoping it will be ok now!!

    Thanks again guys.

Malmaison is fine if you want an overpriced run of the mill hotel room.

The OP wants something special ...

Don't mean to sound harsh, just speaking from my experience as a woman who has been romanced in Manchester! x

Sounds like you need to persuade your men to dig deeper and not just go for the cheaper rooms

Now if you excuse me I will go and hide in a corner. :p
