I have sent owt4nowt a pm, and we've been to the travel agents, found some dates that suit and a reasonable price, my fella has a few more questions tho if anyone with experience can remember:

    1) Are the meals at pre-fixed times and are you able to help yourself to a snack (just fruit/bread etc) if you miss one (say you sleep in late).

when i did one ( have done a few) you all kind of agree a mutual time for meal but there were snacks availble ( ie fruit and bread) but the food is so good your glad of a break of not eating )

    2) Are you able to help yourself to soft drinks at any time of day (on the AI cruises) or do you have to ask the crew - ie, can you get up early and make a coffee/get some water. We kind of expect alcohol to be only available at certain times/to be served by the crew as it usually would be at an AI hotel.

on the ones that i did wine squash tea coffe water was unlimited you could just go to where it was located and help yourself
if you wanted diet coke fanta Ie branded stuff you just signed a chitty for it) and it was all tallied up at the end of the trip but it wasnt rip of prices either

    3) When you moor for the night, is this just "drop anchor" rather than at a jetty, and if so, is it possible to usually get to shore - if just for a walk on land, and is this quite flexible or does it tend to be one trip at a time decided by the crew?

the ones that i did you wernt able to go on land at night

the cheapest way i have done them was to book a really cheap holiday to turkey in the area that i wanted to go ie fethiye or marmaris then book the gullet cruise once i was there
you can do 3 4 7 10 14 nights but i just used the cheap holiday for flight transfer and a base really

ive done them on my own with my son who was 10 at the time and with other half
i plan next summer to take my neice to turkey and do a two week holiday and part of that will be a gulet cruise

Glad to hear there are people on here who have experienced fantastic gulet cruises, as all I've ever heard about, first-hand, was people complaining about dreadful ones. Sounded like a nightmare from start to finish. So I agree with the advice given above about being careful who you book with - I would search and search on the net for reviews before you book - to make sure you end up with a quality one.

I must say that the most reaxing holiday I have ever had was a one week cruise with anatolian sky.

    FYI

I would book again today but the costs seem to have risen .
  • Would you like to join This is a very special question and a special question needs a special moment to be posed. Well, we have a great idea. Have you ever thought of an engagement at the blue sea in the Mediterranean Sea?

Book a high class gulet cruises in Turkey onboard your personal gulet . As every sea vessel has minimum 2-3 cabins you can ask some people who are important to you, like the parents, to join you. Now you are thinking for sure that you wont have enough privacy to ask that special question. No worries. During a gulet cruises vacation you will have enough personal moments just for two.
