Well I spoke to them early yesterday morning after explaining I had missed the call back and they tried to put me through but after half an hour on hold they took some more details re: mortgage amount etc and assured me that somebody would call me back asap. Also asked if I was going out at all but I gave my mobile number so no problem there.

Nobody phoned so I called again last night only to be told that I would have to wait and they could not tell me when I would be called back. I tried to explain what I had been told ion the morning but the girl couldn't get me off the phone quick enough, she didn't even ask my name.

    Not impressed to be honest.

And after following this thread with interest it sounds like this could be one long hassle.

Direct Line's 5.29% fix is only £20 extra per month I am sorely tempted.

The ist account is all set up I just need to activate it. If they can't sort the mortgage out I won't be activating it.

Did anyone else receive another key facts once their application form was returned?
I got one with the application form and today I have received a letter telling me they have received my application form & documents and sending an amended key facts. But I can't actually see any difference to the original:confused:

    Watch your self with this.
We had all our letters and bank cards through asking us to call and activate the account and set up security...we also rcvd the mortgage offer through which we have signed and returned and a valuation should now be arranged. I have been trying to set up security (my husband has already set his up) but they are saying that my DOB does not match their system, could be their input error, they had to apply for my original application forms (which took 2 weeks instead of 2 days for some reason) and they are telling me that this will definately be holding up the mortgage.
They asked me every possible question from that application form possible anmd I answered each one correctly on Sat night.....but they still want to see a copy of my birth certificate....
If I was not this far along I would be looking elsewhere for a mortgage.
It is also making me think twice about moving all my banking, but I know I really need to if I want to take full advantage of the offset feature.

Yes I got this too and called to query it. They told me this was normal and to file it with everything else. Mine had not changed either!

thanks, I thought it might be standard, just wanted to be sure I wasn't going mad and there was something so glaring obvious I couldn't see for looking

If you are not in a rush, then I do think it's worth pursuing. I don't think the weekend staff are quite as up to speed as they should be. Not that this is an excuse. I did get a mortgage offer from another company only recently and I didn't check once with them. So I didn't feel stressed during the process, but then I wasn't in such a hurry and already feeling stressed about the whole move thing.
  • Totally_confused - how annoying for you and very stressful for you, when you knew/thought you were already accepted and then turn round and say actually you are right and you are accepted. I think I would have had a meltdown.

Well, after saying I wasn't sure if my constant calling was hampering me. I buckled and just gave them a call. I used the number than gem17 posted and it worked fine. I've been told that it looks like I have been accepted  subject to a valuation (also mentioned that there is a note for the weekend staff to inform me - which they haven't). He's going to check to see if my valuation report can be used and give me a ring back (we'll see!!) .

Well, while I was in the middle of typing this, he phoned back. My valuation report is going to be used. :T So, just waiting for offer docs to come through, which should be this week.
