Ive only been doing this a couple of weeks, then got the email today :-

    Dear Panellist,

Thank you for your recent participation in the Royal Mail survey conducted by Research International, your contribution has been invaluable.
As you may be aware, we are commissioned by Royal Mail to measure the quality of their service in specific postcode areas, however at present we have more than the required number of panellists in your postcode and unfortunately this means we need to remove you from the panel . We will keep your details on our "Reserve" list in case a space becomes available in your area at which time we would contact you again to see if you are still interested in helping with the survey.
Please do not worry about posting or completing information online for any items you may still have or may receive in the near future. If you can use any of the stationery for your own use then please do.
If you have any questions please call our Freephone Helpline number, or send us an email. Please tell the operator that you are helping with the ‘Royal Mail Postal Survey’.
Once again, thank you for your participation and support with the project.
    Yours Sincerely

    Postal Survey Team

I signed up for this a while back and got the email after a bit but then moved (within the same village) and thought "why not?" signed up again and got accepted so the whole pretext of "we'll let you know if we need anyone else in your area" seems like bull to me.....

Sorry for whoever I got kicked off though- :o I didn't read the thread before I reapplied
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

    Hi,
After reading this I e-mailed them and asked what was going on thought I would post the reply.

Thank you for your email. I can assure you that this is not what we are doing. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to change some panelist’s status to reserve for the time being. This is because we have to work to tight guidelines which govern how large our panel is and where it is based, and sometimes these requirements change. It is not a reflection of how they have performed and it is not so new members can join. We are sorry that people seem to have heard incorrect information.

    Thank you

Thanks for any help and advice given

Great minds think alike! I emailed them too and got the response below:

I can assure you that your removal from this survey is not to make room for new panelists, neither is it a reflection of how you have performed. You have been a good panelist for us in the past. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, we have to change your status to reserve for the time being. This is because we have to work to tight guidelines which govern how large our panel is and where it is based.

Well as I see it, there is no difference really...take a look at it:

"This is because we have to work to tight guidelines which govern how large our panel is and where it is based." - What I see from this is that they may have a set number of panelists. So, say they need 100,000 panelists from a wide cross-section across the UK. If someone signs up for the panel in an area that is not yet covered, then that person would be deemed necessary for the survey and someone in another area that has more coverage will be kicked off. So, in essence a loyal poster has been kicked off to make room for a new panel member!

  • Can't believe the condition my weekly posting pack arrived in?!?! It was torn completely down both long sides of the envelope and all the stuff was hanging out literally SHOCK HORROR. Although i dont think anything is missing. I have not had to open the pack as it all just slid out so I am sending the envelope to Kantar to see what they have to say. I bet the postie would have looked after it a bit better if he had known what it was :)
