You don't need to do that! Just open up Word (or Notepad) on your computer and then copy the relevant details from the email and paste them into Word to print out. That way you are only printing what you need.

yep thats what I do...I prefer word as its easy to make the packing label addy larger.

Prob in mah_jong house is the number of huge, twenty year old reference books and old large reader digest manuals etc....what to do with them???? Some of them are in mint condition. Took a pile to the charity shop already. But I would also like to make some money if there is any to be had!!! Ideas??

The best thing to do is log onto your seller account, get it to display your orders. Select and display the relevant order, then click the link that says print this page - it will then print the page with a nice big address label and none of your information. All on one sheet. Just cut off the top and stick on the envelope and stick the rest in the envelope.

This must go down in history as being the amost ultimate guide on how to sell stuff on Amazon for maximum profit - also nice to see so many people sharing some really novel and first class ideas! Martin would be proud of us!!
  • I agree - one school of thought might have been to keep quiet and keep all the best tips to yourself, but the whole ethos of Martins work here is to find something out and share it with as many people as possible - everyone gains and no-one loses
  • Just wanted to thank the OP again for this wonderful thread. My Daughter,10 is saving like mad for going to Florida in December and decided to get in on the act! I gave her £3 this morning to go in the charity shop and choose some books to sell, which she duly did, and has already made her £3 back by selling her first book tonight!! As you can imagine she is over the moon..... think i may have a mini Richard Branson on my hands here, she spent the rest of the day sorting out stuff to sell on Ebay!

Once again, thank you Apprentice Tycoon on behalf of my daughter as well as myself (made £27 since Friday!)

I haven't sold any books at all - very disheartening
  • I think that you just need to keep the faith and wait a little longer, can I ask what kind of books they were?

Even though you have books listed on Amazon I'm sure that it would be OK to list them with www.listbooks.co.uk (the owner of the site gives details on post 90) at the same time, so long as you remember to cancel the other one when a book sells

    I've been Money Tipped!
I put about 12 books on Amazon two weeks ago and haven't sold a single one. However, on Monday I went through all my CD's and picked out the ones I no longer play. I put 20 of them on Amazon and up till this morning have sold 4. Not bad. I put them at fairly cheap prices and after the deductions I have not made very much but every little helps.

Do other sellers put their address on the back of parcels in case it cannot be delivered for any reason?

One more thing, the price the post office quoted for first class was so expensive I wouldn't have made anything so I sent them second class (hope this is okay). I have today bought some thinner padded envelopes so hopefully any future postings will be cheaper. Do you all send your books first or second class?
The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie
  • Amazon says that you need to post out the goods within 2 days so I think that if you send it on the day you are notified then it's not unreasonable to send second class. I use a return label just in case.
