Have you tried disconneting all other phones to the socket and leaving the modem/router connected?? Remember to turn it off and on again. See what happens.

yeah tried that already, but hey ho....................really dont expect much with BT in all honesty as there helpdesk sucks in a major way. But at least the internet is wokring at the moment now, just a shame im tied up with them for another 9 months as im quite dissappointed in the lack of help i got from there help desk the 3 times i called them.

Make sure you are connected to the internet (Green Lights are go)

    START MENU
    RUN
    COMMAND

    type in NETSTAT

this will give you a list of ip addresses that your machine is talking to, or being spoken to. its quite likely your IP address is being hit by spyware. I recommend a anti-spyware clean-up.

I had the same problem a few months ago and also suffer from a BT Voyager Modem which has a habit of uninstalling itself on a bi-annual basis.
