Well done for sorting TSB. once you are single, it will get harder.

Where are you going to use as your postal address and for the electorla roll? You need to sort that outas it afects your credit rating.

  • Will you lose your job now that your employer will have to get another couple in?

So have you transferred the debts from your OH's cc onto your cc??

Yes but I'm just paying my share, no more, no less. The debts were all joint but she had tried being clever and doing 0% transfers onto cc's in her name but sadly, she isn't that clever and never got any further than that.

If I was a nasty *(insert expletive of choice)* I could have walked away and said "tough world". But I'm not and as the debts are joint, fair is fair and I'll pay my half. Call me daft but when I look in a mirror, I'm happy with what I see.

Possibly my parents back in the shire of York. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet, I may even move back up there for a while and pick up my old trade of long-distance haulage. I have a hankering for the higher latitudes and sub-zero trucking in Scandinavia has always appealed to me so who knows?

Ok, sorry if I'm being a bit thick, I've had a funny sort of day....

You now have ALL the cc debts on cards in YOUR name.....?

Is this the WHOLE debt or is ther some still in your ex's name?

But you are planning to pay only half?

Will your ex pay her share? All she will see is that the whole debt is in your name....

Yes as they really need alive-in couple for "our" job.
No as they are happy to keep me on in a different capacity. Basically I can do anything that's needed round the place and without being modest  I like to think I do it rather well :D

Basically, the joint debt was (is?) £16K in total, spread over 5 cc's, 2 in my name (about £4K) and 3 in hers (about £12K). We've added it all up and divided it in half so we each have £8K. She's taken out a loan for her half and totally paid off 2 of her cc's, about £4K, AND half of the remaining card. I've transferred the rest of the balance on to my cc.

To recap  :We are paying half the total debt each. My half is on my cc and I WILL pay it off, trust me on that one. She can, err, do what she wants! oops, "bitter and twisted" alert :rotfl:
