Great idea. It keeps the lines of communication open and room for manoeuvre. The reason I have tended to put down a card to do a BT to is then you are more sure of it being fee free if you do it at the very beginning, rather than doing it later.
Yes, to abbreviate the Egg Anniversary by a chunk, when you've planned and waited for that time in the first place, certainly does a sting a bit, but yes, life goes on and it's only money at the end of the day!0
