Thanks for replies. Wish I had seen this forum before I posted important stuff via RM, would have gone and delivered it myself whatever cost and inconvenience. Didnt realise so much stuff went missing ! Well one never thinks it will happen to them ! I'll keep you ''posted'' on news about my claim, maybe my experience will help someone........0

put a few forum posts v's millions of items delivered into context
unfortunatly rm's a cheap service being ripped apart with obvious consequencies.
why not ask postcomm how its opening of the markets has improved choice and service for customers0 -
I posted my claim form on the 5th March by recorded delivery. Checked on track and trace today (17th ) and it says '' Information on your item is not yet available online ''. Just want to know what is the usual time scale to track something online ? Thanks0

Hmm, it sounds like the claim form has got lost as well. I have a very high 'loss' rate and whenever I question receipt of claims forms at the Royal mail they never seem to be surprised that they have got lost.
I hope you kept copies as in the past I have always had to print off scanned duplicates and resubmit my claim.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What is it with all these sellers chasing Royal Mail for items lost in post?
Surely it's the buyer who is responsible if something goes missing in the post......
(sorry - A troll was looking hungry...)<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Yes, TightPants' idiosyncratic views may not be accurate or true but they certainly put a smile on my face.
Thanks for the reminder, Steve.0
