    Hi 4littleone,

Just read your diary for the first time and popped on to say 'hello'. You are doing really well and are very upbeat, I wish you well with your debt free challenge.

I hope you are already preparing for your bid for freedom by getting some decent advice about how to financially separate from your OH as this will be crucial to your future security.

I will watch your thread with great interest and support.

Hi Tara, thanks for reading and posting.
Yes i do feel really upbeat at the moment. I think it's because i've finally accepted that i can't change partners attitude to money and life in general but that i don't have to be stuck with it either.
For example, this weekend he has been convinced we have nothing to eat as we don't have cupboards full of crisps, sweets and deli bits.
Absolute rubbish! We have bread and sandwich fillings, Friday night i made spaghetti and meatballs, last night i made home made burgers and salad and today we had a full roast.

I just get on with things now. I intend to write to all the credit reference agencies when i go to disassociate myself from him.

Well, tomorrow is when my wages hit my bank so I'll be back tomorrow night to update my signature :T
    Total debt at LB Moment (Nov 2007) = £6583 £4649 20.03.09

    £940 o/d with hsbc - -£535 as of 20.03.09
  • Hello 4littleone

Another one who has just found and read your diary. You are doing realy well especially with a non cooperative OH. Sounds like you have a demanding job as well.

Good luck in clearing the debts ASAP, I look forward to following your progress if you dont mind.

    Hi Wendy,

thanks for reading and not falling asleep!:rotfl:

Well today my wages hit my account and guess what? I have paid off the solicitor so I am now down to 2 outstanding debts and have paid off £1000 since Nov 2007!:T
Watching the signature go down is such a motivator.
I've been really naughty today and bought myself lunch from the sandwich shop and a cd :o , but i figure this is coming out of my £52 a week sundries budget so what the hell!
Alright, i know that's not the attitude to have but i am entitled to a small treat every now and then.

I have also bought today a handbag sized diary for day to day spends. It's pink and will do just nicely!

Well lets see how the rest of this month goes then!

But the dd will LOVE it, honestly.... :rotfl:

Ahhh well worth it, but I would say that as I knew her when she was younger. Def a CD on my list. The last CD I purchased was Disintegration by The Cure. I used to have it on record years ago and treated myself :D
  • Got to have a nice treat once in a while but cant say LL will ever be on my list!

    I know I know Wendy :o

I do like her voice but the whole album is a wee bit slushy for me.
Blimey Cleosmum! Did you know her well, is she really as nice as she seems in interviews?

I've just looked at my budget above and seen that i haven't put in £24 for smoking :o

I've got the weekly food shop today and i've done my meal plan so that's fine. So far today I've spent £5.34 on a packet of ciggarettes. I smoke 2-3 a day so i budget for one packet a week.
My loan payment cleared today as well.
Last night was a bit of a  money wise but i can at least say that i've planned for it! :rotfl:
I spent £19.99 on a scooter for dd. Hers broke last month and can't be fixed (i have tried honest). She needs one really because i am also on a weight loss drive. Because i work so much i like to either walk her to childminders (about 15 mins) and then walk back for the car or drop the car off in the evening and walk down to get her. This gives us both some fresh air and a bit of time just to chat on the way home.
I also spent £24.99 on a game for a birthday present and then we had dinner out with partner and that came to £24.92.
It all comes out of the £246 i budgetted for sundries and entertainment so i have £84.38 left. That's roughly £21 per week till next pay day. Which i think is fine.
This weekend i am away at a conference till Sat morning and then i plan to do the park thing with dd and get some gardening done on Sunday with her, will probably go to the park again as well.

The following weekend we are going to visit partners workplace as it is a historical attraction and we get in for free.

That leaves just 2 weekends and if the weathers fine we can do walks and park etc.
