Hi All
One friend of mine is with AOL broadband and has been with them for about 6 months. About 4 weeks ago his broadband stopped working. Last night I wento to have a look at it, it seem to me there was no broadband coming in, after doing tests and new installation on a different machine it still didnt work.
So I phone help line, they asked me to remove drivers and aol software and re install, I told them I have already done that, they said no do it again and phone back if it doesn't work.
Anyway after doing step by step as was told, it didn't work. I phone again, they did a line check, and said the broadband has been cancel, I asked Why, it's not been one year and you are still taking money from the account. Was told they don't know it just said it has been canceled and phone the activation line.
So did I was told, I was informed that BT cancelled the broadband, they will re-activate and it will take 7-9 days, I said does it mean it will be a new contract they said yes. I refused I said we didn't ask for cancellation, why should we want to start a new contract, you cancel the contract then, was told they can do that but will charge for remaining months until 1 year is over.
It was suggest to dial 150 and phone BT, I said NO we pay you, it is your fault, you should contact BT and sort it out. They ladie wouldn't budge then was given a billing number to phone, I think by this time she had enough and wanted to pass the problem to someone else.
So phoned the number, explained, was told they will contact BT and phone back on Tuesday, I said does it mean it will be a new contract, the person said no, it won't, it will continue. To be honest I am not that hopeful, any advice and has anyone had any similar problems.

Hi,
You need to see who has not kept to contract, that is who disconnected you. Then act accordingly for breach of contract. From my experience BT do not like County Court and AOL usually see sense when pushed. Some may say that AOL has cancelled contact and you are free to use another provider.
