PAYG phone and charge to recieve texts

Can anyone tell me please. If a PAYG phone is not in use and starts to recieve Charged to recieve texts from a company. If the phone sim is never used again, can any debt accrue to the account holder if they have registered their sim with the service provider but stopped using that particular sim?

no you just wont recive any messages because there will be a backlog till u next top up.
YOur best of topping up by bare minimum and then responding Stop to the message
