Morrison's takeover of Safeway!!

We had an excellent Morrions in my home town until that is the local Safeways was bought out, my wife worked for Safeways. The prices in Morrisons has crepted up, and they think you dont notice.
The Safeway store didnt get taken over it was one of the few that was sold on and is now Sainsburys. I like Sainsburys there prices are a little higher but quality is much better than Morrisons own stuff. Morrions is really the bottom end of the supermarket chain where as Sainsbuys is higher up.
The only problem with Sainsburys is that there product range isnt much, theres less in the store and shelves are often pretty bare. I know there having difficulty with there distribution at momment.
I also heard on working lunch on BBC2 that Morrions aint performing to well although stores that have converted are doing better.
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
Damn, no!
What channel was that on? Was it a UK-wide moan or just Scotland? Are Safway all over the UK??
Damn, wish I could have seen it. Oh well, maybe the pitforks will come out and we'll beat back the oppressors yet
Chandy
it wason bbc1, now you come to mention it they were in scotland.0 -
I used Morrisons yesterday and I bought some chicken. When I got home I noticed that it was on its use by date - and it was not even reduced so unless I wanted to cook it and eat it last night, it was going to go off.
I phoned the store today and I was told to bring it back with the receipt and they will give me a refund.
It was their mistake, and yet I have to go to the other side of town to take this rotten chicken back - just to get the £2.59 back!!!
Not only is there food rotten but their customer service is rotten too!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
You could have frozen it and then eaten it any time you liked.
Better to check the "use by" dates in the shop, though0 -
We have a Safeway that has been taken over by Morrisons and the store has improved 100%. There is now a greater choice... it is far cheaper than the Safeway was ... everyone in the area (who expressed a preference!) is happier with the takeover! The Safeway was always making mistakes on the bill re BOGOF items - this has not happened since Morrisons took over........"enjoy the difference!" sorry others are not having such a good experience!I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes0
