Morrison's takeover of Safeway!!

I've never been to a real Morrison's but what they've done to my local Safeway since they took them over is schocking.
The breakfasts in the cafe are now much more expensive (the staff agree with me on this).
There is now *much* less fresh baking in the store, and some of the items marled 'baked in store' were brought in already baked and wrapped!! (admitted to me by someone in the bakery section). Also much less choice across the whole bakery range.
There might be a *few* more special offers but they're all now on things you don't want anyway!
Where did all the different ice creams go?? And have't seen a special offer on them since the takeover, the Safeway offers on ice cream used to be great.
Weird english speciality items instead of Scottish ones!
They never have all the tills open, leading to long queues!
The ciggy/lottery counter used to ring up a few store items for you no problem, but now they're 'not allowed', so you have to go stand in the long queue at the under-staffed tills!!
Are actual Morrison's stores run like this too??
REALLY wish they takeover hadn't happened.
Anyone else with similar experiences?

........I have another gripe to add to the list about Morrisons Supermarkets. It happened last week when I was overcharged for an item. I followed the advice given on this site and went to the customer service desk to ask for a refund.
They only gave me the exact amount of cash I'd been overcharged. I asked why they didn't offer the item free of charge too and was told that Morrisons don't have that policy.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Are you saying you prefer Safeway now Morrison's are in control? If so, I'd like to hear your reasons why. If not, are you saying that Morrison's stores themselves are run a lot better?

I can't believe how expensive they are compared to waitrose. I go on prices like tinned Toms of which use to be so cheap - better quality can be found at Lidl half the priceRememember. Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.
If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. And finally, be really nice to your family and friends; you never know
when, You might need them to empty your bedpan.0 -
In my Morrisons all the veg seems to be shrink wrapped individually - what a waste of packaging!!! >:(0

I know very little about Safeway, we have only got tiddly ones near us so haven't really used them.
But we now have a new Morrisons, opened just before the takeover, and it's my favourite supermarket!
Prices comparable to Asda, quality lovely, fruit and veg excellent. Wide aisles, friendly staff, short queues. It seems good tempered somehow. AND it doesn't do my head in.
On the price front, I don't know if it's because there is an Asda very near and they have to compete?
But I know someone who used to work for Safeway and he's a bit miffed that there's no staff discount!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Well that's what my Safeway used to be like!
Now it's quite obvious that nobody is very happy there. And that horrible, dark, bland logo makes everything look nasty anyway. I swear that the whole place actually looks darker because it's everywhere!
And they stopped the petrol buyback scheme!
On the plus side I got a nice wind/water-proof jacket and walking boots from Aldi today, and I'm on holiday so now I'm going back to bed. So it's not all bad

Damn, no!
What channel was that on? Was it a UK-wide moan or just Scotland? Are Safway all over the UK??
Damn, wish I could have seen it. Oh well, maybe the pitforks will come out and we'll beat back the oppressors yet
