Faulty mobile phone.

My service provider has provided me with a new handset as an upgrade, unfortunately my handset has a fault. Some of the pixels on the screen are not working.

I have contacted my network on three occaisions and they have failed to return my calls/emails. When I finally spoke to someone I was passed between different people, one even tried to convine me that pixels are small (which they are) and it isn't really a problem. They are calling me back in a few days time with a response.

In the meantime, I contacted the manufacturer of my handset, who agreed they could repair it providing my network provider sent a letter stating that the mobiles IMEI number was linked to my account (ie the handset wasn't stolen). My service provider have not responded to this request.

Is this typical of mobile customer service? Am I expecting too much? What should I do now?
