Council Tax free months-what will you do with yours?

We have decided that even though we still have credit card debt (at 0%), we wouldn't feel as poor if we had even a small amount of savings, we have none, so we're going to put the council tax we would usually pay, £160 a month, into a savings account. Not much but it will make me feel good!

Car service falls in March so that will probably use up the £140 or so I pay in Council Tax (and the rest!). Also, the following month's £140 will be converted to dollars for my LA trip in June.
Don't worry - it's already spent!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
My half (£61.50) is going into a savings account for the Olympic challenge (I'm saving to pay my loan off early if I can) and OH's half is going off his mammoth CC bill!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

I'm not getting two months free this year, as I got into arrears and am nearing the end of the payment plan to sort it out -so I suppose it's going to the Poll tax debt!

Mine will be used to get a years car tax & any over will be used to pay some off my Lloyds credit card as that has got the shortest 0% term left. ( Even though I would love to get rid of the mint card first, for the buzz of clearing one card:mad: )
Bottoms! just checked website to see how much car tax is going to be & it's £180 ! which means only £10 over for the card. I bought it last year before the budget & couldn't remember how much it had gone up.Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner

I'd not really thought about it before you mentioned it - but I am all new and enthusiastic so I know I will be using it to snowball my credit card - which is my first goal.Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0

I'm going to save half of mine and put it into the ISA.0

Half of ours this month went on a new tyre for the car and the rest has gone in the debt pot. The whole amount will go into the pot next month so that will be around £200 in total. Yay!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

We have no council tax or water for the next two months

Unfortunately it'll just help cover our deficit for the next couple of months, £164 covered, £36 left to find each month. No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Don't get it as we spread our bill over 12 months. We only pay water rates over 8 months though so I enjoy the 4 months off that.

Won't see any of it as OH pays for that and the utility bills, and I pay for the food (both come to apx the same amount - depending on how much beer he drinks:rolleyes: ). Although now you come to mention it, if we don't spend as much on food, I have to give him half the difference back, so by rights I should get back half the council tax back , hmmmm :think:1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0
