I've just come back from the Milton Keynes store in Bletchley. They cook Char Sui pork and Crispy duck in store - lush!. What impressed me most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Things we buy from chinese supermarket...
Mung bean noodles - high in protein, good for vegan DD's
Miso - used lots in vegan cooking, less than half the price of the stuff in Tesco!
Tofu - 45p a block!
Seitan in cans (can you also get it frozen too, anyone know?)
Chinese dried sour and salty plums. First introduced to them by Chinese friends as an amazing and very effective solution to horrid morning (all day!) sickness, for awhile they were my lifeline - now all 4 kids love them, I wonder if it's a coincidence? No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0 -

Is that the one in Mount Farm? I haven't been to that one, only been to the one in Bradwell Abbey (NOT Stacy Bushes as per previous poster, although the estate is opposite). Which one is better? Quite intrigued by the cafe at the Bradwell Abbey one, Mii & U as apparently it's really good? Currently #1 restaurant in MK, according to Tripadvisor.0 -
Yes, Mount Farm. I've not been to any of the others, and like you, intrigued by the idea of a cafe @ Bradwell AbbeyPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I haven't read everything but my OH and I go to the Chinese supermarket about every 4 months (wing yip in croydon, See Woo in North Greenwich- or china town in London) OH is half Malaysian Chinese, so we go there to buy our staples for home cooked Chinese.
We regularly buy
Soy- light and dark
Chinese wine for cooking- smells and tastes very similar to Bristol cream and good for british dishes that require sherry (also £6-7 a bottle)
Oyster sauce for stir fry veg
Chili sauce- there is loads to choose from- massive bottles of the stuff.
Noodles - Japanese- we buy a box of 30 for 9.95
dim sum- in a restaurant 3 pieces are easily £3 compaired to £3 for a tray!
Frozen prawns- king size- £7-9 per 1kg bag compared to sainbobs selling 500g for £6
Oils
Herbs spices- great big bags!
Prawn crackers- 55p for a box
Dried mushrooms etc
I could go on and on!!!0
