Isa Transfer - Nationwide To Icesave

  • He also apologized for the delay in contacting me saying that they have been very busy recently.
You bet! I have been waiting for my transfer to go through for nearly 5 weeks now, but I know that my old provider dealt with everything from the transfer request to the sending of the cheque in about 5 days! The rest of the time is just my transfer in their queuing system waiting to be processed...
  • First, thanks to eveyone in this thread...extremely useful.
I have just opened an IceSave ISA account with the intention of xfering some existing ISA funds. Having read your comments and an article in the Observer, which refered to an IceSave credit rating of 'Fragile', I am having second thoughts..

Its been said time and time again, as long as you don't have any more than 35k with them all will be fine, simple way if you are loaded with cash is to have your accounts with multiple institutions, so that you never break the 35K limit.

Upto 35k with Icesave, your money is 100% safe and guaranteed. Even if Landsbanki goes under, which I doubt you will be covered by UK FSA law to get your investment back.

  • I have opened an ISA with Icesave tonight and have printed off two forms to transfer my existing ISAs.

One of these is held with Nationwide but I have a question - my passbook, online account and statements only list the weird building society account number e.g. XXXX/ XXX XXX XXX.

Where can I find out the account number and sort code? Or should I fill out the transfer form with their account number?

Abunchofletters - I just used the Nationwide account number on mine and it worked ok. Nationwide also ask you to fill in a 'transfer out' form, for which you need your Icesave account number. It went through very quickly - about 10 days.

Thanks for the answer, I'll get my forms posted today!
