Where can you buy films online?
All the sites I can see are for music not films.
Any ideas?
Off the top of my head www.lovefilm.com is one. I don't think there's that many at the moment, I'm not sure if iTunes UK have the TV/Film service up and running yet, we seem to be quite behind the likes of the US in buying media online."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

The reality is it is practically impossible to buy the films you want online legally.
Lovefilm is more of a DVD rental site, 65000 films, and has a very small amount, 2000 films, that are downloadable to rent and an even smaller number downloadable to buy.
All rather bizarre don't you think?
Then they start getting excited when people sort it out for themselves.
How bizarre, how bizarre.0 -

Well no matter what's socially acceptable or what we may personally think and how pedantic it is, the forum rules are the forum rules and the law's the law."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Come on Superscaper, thats a very conservative view of the world.
I thought moneysavingexpert was about ruffling a few feathers and getting some of these obviously unfair "laws" changed. We don't just accept the status quo because its the banks or the film industry. We ask questions and we nudge and nurdle to get things sorted.
In the end all we want is fairness.
As the first step I have e-mailed info@copyrightaware.co.uk about this very subject to wonder what exactly is going on.
I find it very bizarre that I can buy my DVD and watch it at home but I am not allowed to put it on my ipod. This coupled with the fact that I cannot legally download the film anywhere is like rubbing salt in the wounds.
If anyone else is wondering about all this I would urge them to do the same and e-mail info@copyrightaware.co.uk, hopefully they can explain what is going on.0 -

I think you've misunderstood the point of the forums. It's not the place to discuss the illegalities and the forum rules are the ones you agreed to when you signed up. By all means question and probe them, but you're meant to do it to abuse@moneysavingexpert.com not on the open forums as it jeapordises them. (That's why sra had to delete a post from this thread)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

You're right, you've completely lost me now.
It would be a shame if my posts about finding out about how to legally download films is somehow considered illegal on this forum.
I'm not discussing how to copy DVDs I am discussing how not to copy DVDs.
The irony isn't lost on me at all. But I'm not surprised.0 -

Finding out how to obtain something legally isn't agaisnt forum rules. It's if we start progressing that into a general discussion of things that should be made legal that aren't etc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hi Millionaire,
No good at the moment for the UK unless you're into Ugly Betty and other US sitcom tat. No films available either.
When you think of it it is like selling record players without there being any records to play on it , or DVD players without there being DVDs available. Absolutely pointless.
When I bought my portable media player I foolishly presumed there would be someway of watching films on it. How presumptious of me.0
