insurance for two cars

does any one know a good company that will offer me a discount for having two cars insured with them, either by a second car discount or both on a double policy.
Paying nearly £1000 for both at the moment

    direct line do

Insure both your cars for less with Direct Line

We don’t want to hit you in the pocket just because you own more than one car. In fact, we are dedicated to doing the exact opposite - saving you money with the new Multi-car Discount.

As part of Direct Line’s new improved car insurance deal, we’re offering a 10% discount on new policies taken out on any additional cars by named drivers or members of your household. This means that, as long as you can identify the existing policy in your household or the policy on which you are a named driver, we will discount your premium by 10% - it’s that simple.

    Admiral multicar?

I don't bother myself - my 2 cars are very different, so one company is rarely competitive on both.

ecarinsurance was one of the first to offer multi-vehicle policies. Up to four vehicle on one policy with free unrestricted cover throughout europe. I have found them very competitive. You can get a quote here> http://ecarinsurance.co.uk/

    just tried the sites mentioned

direct line- you have to do 1 quote for 1 of the cars, and then when you do the second car it asks if you have an existing policy, enter your details, then it will work out your discount (apparently)!
It doesnt recognise the quote for the first car so i gave up.

Admiral entered the details, straight forward enough and managed to get it down to £524.66 for both cars. :T

No more £1000 per year for both.
If anyone knows a way i can get this down even further let me know.;)

    congratulations.

with Direct line I think the 'existing policy' bit is the crunch. it won't recognise a quote, you have to have taken the policy.

Usually its cheaper for us to insure both cars with seperate co's but last year tried Admiral multicar and got both cars cheaper in total but they have seperate policies.

Have you tried shopping around for seperate quotes? *Might* work out cheaper.
