Number Porting before end of 12 month contract
I'm planning on taking up the o2 (v220) 100 + 100 cashback deal.
I've got my PAC from Orange and will port the number over.
If I subsequently find that 100 xnet minutes isn't enough, can I port my number to another contract e.g. Voda 200 BEFORE the o2 12 month contract is up. If so, would o2 give me a replacement number. I don't mind paying for the remainder of the o2 contract because with cashback, its free anyway.
Just wanna check that going with o2 100+100 doesn't leave me trapped if I start increasing my usage.

I dont think you can do get a PAC code until your contact is going to end.
So basically no.0 -

So basically no.
In that case, anyone recommend a cashback 12 month contract (non-Orange) with 200+ xnetwork mins and a phone that I can sell easily (for £££s
). 0 -
hi there
you can port your number anywhere if you have a pac code but you would still carry on paying for the line rental on your current tarrrif.0 -
as long as you are paying the remainder of your contract they have to provide you a PAC as you are fulfilling yourpart of the contract. I know I took a PAC from O2 after 6 months of a contract die to poor network coverage last October0

Excellent. Just what I needed to hear. O2 it is then (hope coverage in my area's better that your WT).
Out of interest, what happened to your O2 contract? Did they give you a new replacement number, or did the service just end (apart from you paying the remaining line rental)?0 -
The service just ended as far as Iknow, not sure they even offered a replacement number as I said it was pointless as their network only provides a signal in the great outdoors!0

I wouldn't mind losing the service, but I'm wondering if this would affect your cashback claims.
Was yours a cashback contract? I take it you still received bills, which is what you'd need to put in a cashback claim.0 -
I just received a final bill detailing all charges to the end of the contract i.e. 6 months at their lowest tarrif. I paid and that was that, wasn't a cashback contract so didn't affect me.0

Oh well, I guess that means as far as cashback goes, I will need to stick to the 12 month contact if I want to keep my number.
Thanks for the help Woby_Tide0
