British Gas Click Energy 4 Has Been Scrapped!
Comments
-
I've just checked with Energyhelpline.com and they told me that if you signed up with BG for their Click 4 prior to Friday the 8th Feb. then you will still get the Click 4 Tariff. This also applies if you used Energyhelpline.com (and probably other switching companies) to transfer you from your current supplier to BG.
I did this on friday afternoon the prices shown then were the old prices and the confirmation e mail included a hyper link that took me to the old click 4 prices, but the email link now takes me to the new prices, so not sure where I stand.0 -

It turns out that I was told a load of b******s by someone at Energyhelpline. It transpires, according to someone more knowledgeable at Energyhelpline, that BG increased their Click 4 prices on Friday and these will be the prices you will be given even if you applied post price increase. Just to check I rang BG and this was confirmed. When or if the BG welcome pack arrives I'll cancel and go back to the drawing board.
Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with e-on?0 -
I signed up in October (Click 4) last year when Quidco had an enhanced cashback.
Can anyone confirm that this tariff has been increased to existing customers??
Thanks,

Even more confusion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've just rang up and queried the Click 4 tariff and was told my account is for single fuel only and have been since October.
I asked for my account to be updated immediately and was told it may take up to 28 days to sort, to which I replied I will no longer be a customer then.
Absolute nightmare trying to get details of tariffs/units used/costs etc.
Anyone advise how to fully work out my bill so I can check 100% that what they say is correct, I can get a rough idea, but would like to fully account for what it should be.

Why on earth are you wanting to switch to British Gas anyway???
Is it just because they're the cheapest? (for now). Or is it the Quidco cashback?
Is money the only thing that matters?
Haven't you heard about all the millions of unsatisfied customers, on here, on watchdog, in the papers, on the news???
Why not pay just a little bit more & receive infinitely superior service elsewhere?
You won't regret it, and it might even save your life!

Yeah, you're probably right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I switched because the fixed tariff I was on with SP came to an end in Oct. and Click 4 was the best alternative, especially with the Quidco enhancement (£80).
A quick call to BG this morning confirms tha Click 4 has NOT been scrapped and is the tariff I am still currently on, albeit at a much higher rate (+15% ish). It is obviously not an option for new customers.
I have been assured my account has been backdated to Oct. on the Click 4 tariff and I'm just waiting for written confirmation of what went wrong and how my bill has been worked out.
I can then assess whether BG is still the best option, in terms of price anyway, and take it from there. The comparison sites haven't been fully updated as yet.
It seems they have had quite a few calls in the last few days!!!!!!!!!!

Lynsey
I dont blame you, im doing same as you, before u switch away from BG upgrade to click 5 via quidco and u might get another cashback.
Then if another supplier is cheaper switch via another cashback offer.0 -

In some way I agree, BG do have an appallingly bad customer service record, however some may argue this is because they have the most customers ergo they will get more complaints compared to other companies which have fewer customers. Even so having recalculated my figures based on Atlantic Energy compared to the revised EDF Online V3 I will only save about £24 if I swapped to Atlantic (the cheapest [for me] according to Energyhelpline). What has "helped" is that the Online V3 tariff now attracts a duel fuel & DD discount of £50.80 per year.0
