Easyjet or Ryanair?

I fly to Italy quite often and I prefer Easyjet, there are more destinations and fly to Milan Malpensa, Ryanair fly to Bergamo a lot further away. The staff seem friendlier too

the 60 day online check in is handy with easyjet, against a 48 hour ryanair check in, apart from that the service is near enough identical but i would still choose easyjet if the price is the same.
paying extra for easyjet in my opinion is not worth it0 -
This year I've flown Prestwick - Rome, Brussels, Pisa, Milan, London with Ryanair and not one problem
and Easyjet Edinburgh - Gdansk, Glasgow - Berlin, Paris and London again not one problem
I would say that the Easyjet staff were a bit more efficient, and there boarding of the aircraft was a bit more organised.
However as each flight cost me less than £30 I can't be too fussy.
Your big problem is if you are flying to a destination that Ryanair only operate say twice a week. If the flight is cancelled then you either have to wait a few days at your own expense or try and get back overland. This happened recently to a friend in Riga. Ryanair couldn't fly the outbound flight from Prestwick because of high winds so the inbound was also cancelled.
Ryanair don't try and reroute you so it is up to you to find your best way home.0 -
Don't know where you're flying from - to but here's our tale;We are flying to Alicante on Good Friday and our nearest airport is Liverpool, though with motorway access on our doorstep there's not much more in it for Manchester. We priced both Easyjet and Ryanair from Liverpool, Ryanair's prices were the most constant and cheapest but they didn't arrive at Alicante until 9.30pm and we are driving to a strange place we ideally wanted some daylight on arrival. We monitored the flights for a while (had to wait for pay cheque to book) and easyjet fluctuated by a couple of hundred pounds. When it was time for us to book, there was nearly £400 difference in both prices. Still not liking the idea of arriving at night, I looked at Manchester and guess what! Got flights with Jet2.com cheaper than both, with full luggage allowance, pre-booked seats (no cattle scrum for seats) and on line check in!Worth a try?0

I also have never had a problem with either. If you are checking luggage in, Easyjet allow 20KG to Ryanairs 15KG. Easyjet seats are marginally more comfy compared to new ryanair ones, so if price and destination are same, Id go for Easyjet (just).
As both are single trip airlines, you could mix and match to squeeze the price a bit, and depending on timings, both offer a lowest price guarantee.0 -
I find Easyjet seats much more comfortable than Ryanair's but the flights are usually slightly more expensive. However I would gladly pay more.0

Thanks for all the advice. We're(hopefully) going to Rome (either of the airports would be fine) but Easyjet times seem to fit in better with us.
Even though we live 20 mins from Stansted and Ryanair would be the obvious choice, the cost, when you take into account the flights, car hire (rome), insurance, parking/taxi etc... doesn't seem to be different! Actually Ryanair are more expensive for the week we would prefer to go! their flights seem uber cheap but when you've gone to the second page and added on the 'extras' it's not that much cheaper. As we don't fly that much (first one with kids as well) we might just go to Gatwick for the 'whole experience' - sounds daft but I like planes!
Thanks again.Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A
I would like to be lucky,healthy & happy in 2020! :T0
