Silly question....can you collect points if paying with a Boots gift card? (I know you don't get points when buying the GF so assume you can get points when paying for purchases with one...but would like to double check)0

Brown paper isnt as fun as the pop corn that lush packs in though :rotfl:however not got a compost bin so cant recycle it as they planned lol.
It's corn starch I think, so technically edible (gets refered to as wotsits at work- on the basis of it having the same nutritional value). I wouldn't advise it though - we get chemicals packed in the same stuff at work and I watched a drunk collegue eat half a box full for a bet. They do sell it in ELC as a modelling material for kids - if you get it wet you can stick it together and make shapes out of it.

Well, anyway, thanks a million. The Boots stuff used to take up so much room when I tried to scrunch it in the bin, that I couldn't get rid of it all in one go. Concertinaing it makes it almost vanish. You are a genius!
Thanks again, passion8 !:A
PS and your spelling is better than mine. Rats!
I'm going to Google that word lol. Btw, the brown paper used to be the bane of my life too lol.Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
Just checked my receipt after my little Boots trip today and am a bit miffed now.:(
Bought:
No 7 skin spritz £10.25
No 7 h/lights powder £10.25
No 7 GWP
S & G Spa heel genius £3.33
Pantene shampoo & conditioner 2 for £4
Pantene int repair 99p
Winnie pooh bath stuff (kids) £1.99
Total: £30.56
Handed over:
£10.25 h/lights coupon
£5 No 7 coupon
200pts wyb S & G Spa
200pts wyb Pantene
200pts wyb No 7 product
300 pts wys £30
No problems scanning any of them BUT.......receipt says:
pts received: 44
PC offer pts: 200 (pantene)
Offer pts: 400 (No 7 plus S & G Spa 200 each)
No 300 pts wys £30.
And not given another No 7 voucher either! despite handing over a £10 GV and £5.56 in cash.
So........would you:
A. Ring CS & have a bit of a moanie or
B. Keep one's trap shut in view of all the vouchers/glitches used.
You didn't get the points for the £30 spend because the till took off the £10.25 for the illum thingy and took the total spend below £30 . I got caught out the same way the other day. It doesn't matter what order the vouchers go in it will still be recognised as below £300 -

Found the answer myself on boots.com (although I had looked before posting....I googled the phrase 'boots chemist paying with a gift card'....and this was one of the results
Boots Giftcard- Works just like a gift voucher
- Whether it's a special occassion or simply to say thank you...it can be the perfect solution for those "difficult to buy for people" or if you're spoilt for choice!
- Can be bought online and in store
- Can be spent on absolutely anything in Boots stores, and can be used to pay for all or part of any purchase
- Any remaining balance can be used next time you shop in a Boots store
- Up to £250 can be added to a Giftcard at any time in store
- There's a range of card designs to choose from
- Receive Advantage Card points on applicable purchases, when spending your Giftcard in store.*

If you handed these vouchers
£10.25 h/lights coupon
£5 No 7 coupon
over before the wys £30 voucher then the till wouldn't believe you have spent over £30....as it would have reduced the total accordingly. I assume that was the problem....it has happened to me in the past and I have made them void the transaction and started all over again to ensure maximum points and discount applied:T
Am extremely carefulto hand over all points coupons first.........then MOC's.......then (paltry amount of) cash
which is why i'm annoyed........cos it wasn't my fault LOL

Its definately popcorn and not the fake stuff, Lush promote it as its extremely cheap to use as packaging and it can be composted so as to recycle it. It smells sickly in large quantities though as the lush perfume gets into it :rotfl:
Off topic but we have the ELC toy - gosh its sticky when wet!0 -

In that case....I would try calling CS and see what they say. I wouldn't worry about the number of MOC and points vouchers put through....that's what they are there for after all.0 -
passion8, I already googled it - you win!
And celyn90, Lush do use real popcorn, not the blown up maize wotsits stuff. I guess it's all recycleable.... (and I've sampled both - now I'll wait patiently till someone invents a cocoa derived packing material!)0 -
