Economy 7 Question...

Good Afternoon,
I have storage heaters and by the look of it (based on posts read here
) they seem to be the best option for electric only... however I wondered what people think of having one of the wall mounted dimplex oil filled panel heaters for use in a spare room? It would only be used on very low and probably only when we have guests... the benefit for us would be losing one of the ugly storage units and would only need to be used a few times a year?
Also... We are on E7 for the storage heaters... What I wasnt sure about was if I put the dishwasher etc... on a timer to run at say 2am would this automatically use E7 or is this fed from a seperate supply? When I have been reading about the Dimplex Duo heat it says it needs a supply for Night and Day (two connections) so this is what got me thinking this...
Our water is heated using electric and features a single element but I think this heats up continually as when you use some water you could hear it kicking in to heat the tank back up... however i have turned this down as it was stupidly hot so hopefully this will be more economical. Based on the answer to the above I could put the immersion on a timer too and have it heat after 12:30am?
thanks in advance
Daniel

Any electric heating is 100% efficient so it doesn't matter what you use, its the cost of the units so using it during the day will cost more. 2 Anything you use overnight will be on the cheap rate so yes, do all you washing, drying etc overnight, even the hovering! 3 Some E7 heaters now have 2 heating elements, 1 for overnight, 1 for day use. 4 yes, put an immersion heater timer in so it only heats overnight. It will have a boost button for day use if you need it.0

Thanks for your reply, this is most helpful! However I think I will save the hoovering for the days!

Only reason I was confused it when reading the dimplex duo heat install manual on their site it said it needs 2 connections one for the night power and one for day so I didnt know if they were connected on different circuits?!
We have a timer in our airing cupboard but for some reason it is not connected, and the element is connected to a different socket, perhaps this was changed a few years ago? I will have to investigate.
Thanks
